Trying to draw differenty

But who am I kidding? I'm not like Del Kathryne Barton or this amazing artist here; whom I've been trying to be inspired by but it kinda failed...

Researching new fonts and trying to copy them...
My first attempt at trying to be inspired by Renee Nault but it kinda failed. By the way I traced the outline of the fox first. :D ;) Considering they are my favourite animal; no matter how hard I try I cannot draw foxes
Attempt no. 2. This was a massive fail as I drew the nose and mouth way to large, so I gave up on that one...
Attempt no. 3. Was getting desperate here so I tried to do something like her 'Flood Fauna' series... this was also a fail and it doesn't even make sense. Why is there a weird fluffy chick on a rock?? I can't even explain my own drawings.
And while I was trying desperately to copy the ideas of her I kinda had an idea...
Yeaaahhhh, it got a bit random...
Anyway there are my (not very good) attempts of trying a new form of art which I find really beautiful but art is controversial and it's just my opinion.

P.S. I know I haven't been posting weekly quotes in a while but haven't found any good ones....

P.P.S. If you don't know who Del Kathryn Barton is look her up. She won the Archibold prize this year for her painting of Hugo Weaving.

Staying up until 10:10pm to draw my friend like a boss

Well I just copied a photo of my friend (who is beautiful so I had to draw her). (By the way, I didn't trace it).

Well I started doing a simple sketch in ink pens...

But then I did my usual way of drawing -- black and white sketching

Hope she doesn't mind

Mother's Day

Yesterday was Mother's Day. I made a card for my mum in the morning and then we went to my grandma's place for Mother's Day lunch.

Here are some pictures from Instagram:

My (not so good) drawing of Keira Knightly...

Well the other day we had a sub in Textiles and I was really bored because we were doing the same thing we usually do (cutting out pictures from magazines and sticking them on pieces of paper *rolls eyes*) and I found a picture of Keira Knightly. In my opinion she's pretty and even though I'm not really obsessed over her, I just suddenly was in this mood to draw, like I had to draw her. So I did. But it's not very good.... oh well I'll show you anyway because it's not too bad....I don't think....

I think the problem is the face is the wrong shape. It's too, long, and, square.... her mouth could use a little work too...
It doesn't look anything like her but it was fun to draw (well, try to draw)...

P.S. If you're about to say I'm being too hard on myself (which you're probably not but just in case) you should know that most people who are good at drawing (or so everyone says) is always hard on themselves. They can always find something wrong with it and they will sometimes criticize themselves even if they are proud of what they've achieved.
....That's just what I think anyway...
